About The Alleghany Foundation
The Alleghany Foundation was established in 1995 with $35 million in proceeds from the sale of Alleghany Regional Hospital. Since then, the Foundation has awarded $33 million in grants in the areas of healthcare, education, recreation, economic development, arts & humanities, historic preservation and social and community services. Assets of the Foundation currently are $60 million. (December, 2009)

Internship Announcement
The Alleghany Foundation in
Covington, Virginia, is again sponsoring a
summer internship program in 2012 for up to two
undergraduate or graduate students who desire
experience related to philanthropy, the
non-profit sector, research, economic
development, communications, or community
service in the Alleghany Highlands.
